A self proclaimed comic book geek by nature. Samal "Samal World"
McNealy has been drawing since before he could walk. During his
high school years at Butler Traditional in Louisville, KY, Samal

drawing portraits for his fellow class mates. He became the go
to guy for frequent freelance design work for students and
Upon graduating from high school in 1990, Samal received various
art awards and a vocational school certificate, for Commercial
Artat Ahrens Vocational School, in Louisville, KY. Right out of
high school, He acquired a job as an art director for
Approbation Comics, while still honing his craft taking various
life drawing courses at Jefferson Community College.
After an amicable split with Approbation Comics, Samal published
his own first comic in 2002, ELFMAN: How To Create An Icon,
a tongue and cheek instructional art book on how to develop a
superhero. The book was later picked up by a American manga
company in 2003 and can still be found on various independent
publishing sites. After the ELFMAN book, Samal did
various small freelance projects for different companies
throughout the 2000's.
