Pipin Tobing,

Pipin Tobing was born February 12th, 1971 in a small village named Tarutung, North Sumatra in Indonesia. He majored in Art and Design at Trisakti University in Jakarta. Pipin worked diligently in the field of illustration working as a freelance illustrator, while still continuing to study art after graduating. Tobing has worked for the world renowned advertising agency McCann Erickson: Indonesia as Art Director as well as LOWE: Indonesia as a Graphic Designer. Pipin commonly uses the alias Pinn Soban in his work.

In 2006, Pipin began working as a freelance illustrator again as to regain his love for the industry. As a child, Tobing always loved to draw and in his college years, embraced American comic books as his favorite guilty pleasure. Becoming a comic book artist was his dream and now thanks to the internet and global connections, Pipin is now making a living from the media that he has always loved. |
